“ I have just received the package with the Micro Plunge Base and the other parts. Thank you so much! I am really pleased with it! It is such a precise tool and what craftmanship! This is truly the best plunge base I have ever seen for a router! ”
“ The term 'precision' tends to be thrown around with abandon, but in this case, it's warranted. Imagine gene-splicing a micrometer with a plunge base and then shrinking it; that's the new Micro Plunge Base from Micro Fence. It's a miniature version of their standard precision Plunge Base - made for compact routers... The Micro Fence system oozes quality. ”

“ Micro-Fence just knocked my hat in the creek with their new Micro Plunge Base. The base accepts the Dremel 8220 cordless rotary tool (also uses the Proxxon motor and others) making this the first cordless plunge router I’ve had the pleasure of using. Cordless is so convenient when routing very precise inlays, no cord snagging or dragging. Add to that mobility a horsehoe shaped base with incredibly good site lines and this little buddy is a wonder. ”
“ Hi Rich, I just wanted to wish you Good Fortune on your upcoming tour and i hope that you sell lots of tools. I'm absolutely delighted with the Micro-plunge base and Micro Fence. The tool is fun to use and the high accuracy and repeatability of cuts is a godsend. Cutting and installing a 4 diameter circle of 3/64 stringing now takes me about 20 minutes as opposed to over an hour when cutting it by hand, and no hand cramps to boot. Great tools. Now then, why dont't you make a micrometer depth stop for my drill press? (just kidding, but if you ever make one, I'll buy it). ”
“ Superbly engineered, the two light rings are just the latest in a long line of products from noted woodworker Richard Wedler, who understands exactly what’s needed: he has been making custom cabinets and furniture for over forty years. ”

The Micro Plunge Base was designed with fine detailing in mind. It’s a smaller (4″ diameter base), lighter plunge mechanism with the patented micrometer dial to provide measurement for depth-of-cut. It features silky smooth plunge action, extreme stability, and precision with maximum visibility. This is an all US-made machine tool made of solid aluminum and hard chrome-plated stainless steel with stainless springs, bronze sleeve bushings, and acrylic tool inserts. It is fabricated to precise standards and is all corrosion/rust resistant.
The Micro Plunge is ideal for light-duty jobs such as installing small hardware (like jewelry boxes), architectural detailing, inlay work, picture frame-building, luthier work, scale model building, and precision repair requirements.
The Micro Plunge comes with some basic accessories that add to its versatility. There are also optional additions that can further the tool’s applications. Included is one Acrylic Insert for the motor of your choice (see the drop-down box below to select your model), a pair of Auto-Centering Bearings, a Ball-Tipped Driver for assembly and adjustment, a sample bottle of the spindle oil we use, and all appropriate hardware to set-up and run. Other accessories are listed below and shown in the thumbnail pictures to the left (more information on each accessory is available on the Accessories page).
If you’re interested in a more complete kit, our Package Deals page offers combinations that include our foundation pieces with the Micro Plunge.
