Designed to address a luthier’s need for precision when making and/or installing rosettes and cutting sound holes, our rosette cutting kit can meet the highest of standards with ease. It provides the measuring accuracy to produce snap-fit inlay channels in radii from 1-5 inch (2-10 inch diameter), making it suitable for steel-string, classical guitar and ukelele work, as well as any other small circle cutting requirements your imagination can dream up.
The full set, used in conjunction with calipers, provides tack sharp .001” adjustments in both the vertical and horizontal planes. Every set-up is a matter of one test cut, a measurement, and one fine-tuning adjustment.
The full set-up includes a two-piece plastic sub-base, the micrometer-adjusted trammel bar, linkage to connect the sub-bases, a flush-fitting, stainless steel flanged center-pin sleeve and our Micro Plunge Base.
Team this set-up with our 1/8” shank down-spiral bits for the best possible results.
